We are looking for genuinely caring and responsible people who can provide a safe, stable and permanent home for Hyacinth Macaws.

These magnificent parrots are incredibly intelligent, social and emotionally sensitive. They form strong bonds with their caregivers and need daily companionship, attention and meaningful interaction. They are not suitable for anyone looking for a low-maintenance pet or a temporary commitment.

The right home

We are looking for homes where the birds will be treated as cherished family companions and given the time, patience and respect they deserve.

A suitable home should be able to provide:

• A spacious, secure and clean living environment
• Plenty of room for movement, climbing and exercise
• Daily interaction and supervised out-of-enclosure time
• Appropriate food, fresh water and regular feeding routines
• Safe toys, chewing materials and enrichment to keep them mentally stimulated
• A calm environment with plenty of positive human interaction
• Proper protection from household hazards and unsafe fumes
• Access to appropriate veterinary care when required
• A long-term commitment to their welfare and happiness

Responsible rehoming

Our priority is finding a suitable home rather than simply placing a bird as quickly as possible. We encourage interested people to carefully consider the time, space, financial responsibility and long-term commitment involved before enquiring.

Experienced parrot owners are welcome to get in touch, but previous experience alone does not guarantee placement. Every potential home should be able to demonstrate that it can provide appropriate care and a stable environment.

We also encourage prospective adopters to research Hyacinth Macaw care thoroughly and make sure everyone in the household understands the commitment involved.
